Kei trucks for the farms, mines and ski hills of the Laurel Highlands
The Laurel Highlands mix farms, mines and snow. Fayette, Somerset and Westmoreland counties held 2,782 farms in the 2022 Census of Agriculture, 23 active surface mines and quarries on MSHA's list and six operating ski areas. Pennsylvania opens the road to a kei truck 25 years or older with limits, and a newer governed truck works under the farm rules.

Questions
Asked about the Laurel Highlands.
Can I drive a kei truck on the road in the Laurel Highlands?
Pennsylvania does not give a mini truck an unrestricted road registration, but it opens two limited ways onto the road, an antique registration for a truck at least 25 years old and a farm vehicle exemption for work between farms. The Pennsylvania page gives the full rule.
What work suits a kei truck in the Laurel Highlands?
Farm and woodlot work, site work at the quarries and mines where the operator allows it and grounds and snow work at the ski areas, where a typical county gets 40 inches of snow a year.
What about a newer truck governed to 25 mph?
It enters the country as off road equipment, governed to 25 mph. In Pennsylvania it works private property under the off road title. The Pennsylvania page has the rest of the rule.
