The work

What a Jumbo is for.

Long days

Space behind the seats for a bag, a rifle case or a dog bed, out of the weather.

Taller drivers

The longer cab gives the seat more travel and more room to recline.

Work and town

A bed for the work and a cab you do not mind driving to the store.

What we look for

The makers and the drive.

Daihatsu Hijet Jumbo

Found as 2WD or 4x4. Many 4x4 trucks carry a low range, and some grades a locking rear differential.

A road truck comes in on its age only at 25 years or older, which today means built in October 2001 or earlier. Read its manufacture date and its engine against the federal rules before you buy.

The bed

Know what fits.

For scale, the maker's own figures for its current model. An older truck's bed is close but not the same, so we measure the actual truck before you buy it.

65 by 56 inches

Inside length 1,650 mm (65.0 in), inside width 1,410 mm (55.5 in) and side height 285 mm (11.2 in), for the bed of Daihatsu's current Hijet Jumbo.
