Body notes
- Two looks under one code. The January 1999 to November 2004 truck has the original nose; the December 2004 to November 2007 truck has the larger bumpers and headlamps and is often called the 9.5th generation (reference work). The later look carries on unchanged on the S201P, so a 2005 S200P and a 2008 S201P look alike and differ by engine: EF in the S200P, KF in the S201P.
- 4WD: high and low part time on the Twin Cam Special from February 2000, Super Diff Lock standard on the Extra 4WD from January 2001.
- Type prefix GD- from 1999 to about September 2001, then LE- and TE-.
- ja.wikipedia says the S200P reused much of the 8th generation truck's platform to hold cost, unlike the new Cargo.
- Rolling into the 25 year lane: every unit built on or before 28 October 2001 is 25 today.
The 25 year lane
In the road lane today.
Earliest units of this chassis turn 25 in this month, counted from production.from. Each truck's own date of manufacture decides, to the day, under 49 USC 30112(b)(9).
The last units turn 25November 2032
The newer lane
EPA certificates.
EFNamed 2010 to 2015
Named twice for mini trucks, model years 2010 to 2015. Two more 659 cc three cylinder families run to 2026 unnamed, and 659 cc fits only the EF.
A truck under 25 can come in only as governed off road equipment, and only if its engine family held an EPA nonroad certificate for that model year. No kei engine family was certified for mini trucks before model year 2010, so a truck built after 31 October 2001 and before model year 2010 has no federal door until its 25th birthday.
