Full model change. The biggest cab of its class with better stability and quietness. Automatics greatly extended to meet demand. Part way through the generation the three cylinder became a DOHC. Representative truck: 3,295 by 1,395 by 1,805 mm, wheelbase 1,900 mm (1,810 on the 7th), EF 659 cc SOHC 42 PS net at 5,700 rpm. Hijet based local models were built in Indonesia and Malaysia in the 1990s.

EFNamed 2010 to 2015
Named twice for mini trucks, model years 2010 to 2015. Two more 659 cc three cylinder families run to 2026 unnamed, and 659 cc fits only the EF.
A truck under 25 can come in only as governed off road equipment, and only if its engine family held an EPA nonroad certificate for that model year. No kei engine family was certified for mini trucks before model year 2010, so a truck built after 31 October 2001 and before model year 2010 has no federal door until its 25th birthday.
