Questions

Asked about the Finger Lakes.

Can I drive a kei truck on the road in the Finger Lakes?

The New York DMV will not title or register a Kei-class vehicle for the road unless it has been brought into full compliance with federal safety and emissions standards. The New York page gives the full rule.

Can I use one in my vineyard?

Yes. New York does not register kei trucks for the road, and farms, orchards and vineyards on private land are where the state lets one work. Kei trucks are narrow enough for many vineyard rows.

What about a newer truck governed to 25 mph?

It enters the country as off road equipment, governed to 25 mph. In New York it works farms, orchards, vineyards, camps and private land with the owner's permission. The New York page has the rest of the rule.
