Questions

Asked about the Carlin Trend and northern Nevada.

Can I drive a kei truck on the road in the Carlin Trend and northern Nevada?

Nevada has no kei truck law. The DMV's title guide lists the documents to register and title a gray market vehicle with a Non-US Vehicle brand, while DMV compliance staff told a state advisory committee in April 2025 that kei vehicles should not be registered. The Nevada page gives the full rule.

What about a newer truck governed to 25 mph?

It enters the country as off road equipment, governed to 25 mph. In Nevada it works private land and husbandry, public land, trails, ways and unpaved county roads unless closed, paved highway crossings and highway portions a city or county designates to reach riding areas, never an interstate. The Nevada page has the rest of the rule.
